A wonderful single malt Scotch whisky from the Ardmore distillery, bottled in 2016 after being matured in refill sherry hogsheads since 1998. Bottled as part of Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Label series.

Ardmore 1998 Producer Tasting Notes
Aroma without water: Sherry influences with clementine and green apple, complemented by hints of beeswax polish. Subtle charred oak aromas mingle with treacle toffee.
Taste without water: Sweet and creamy with a touch of chilli spice. Raspberry, orange, and milk chocolate flavours are complemented by underlying hints of charred oak. A delicate tobacco edge develops on the finish.
Aroma with water: Fruit cake aromas followed by ripe banana, Demerara suga, and clove. Green apple and lemon lead to fresh peppermint notes.
Taste with water: Smooth but spicy with rich orange marmalade flavours, complemented by clove and charred oak. A subtle smokiness develops combining with dry tealeaves on the finish.
