Macallan Amber 1824 Tasting Notes
40% Vol / 70cl / £45.00
Nose: Orange zest, raisins, honey & apples. Slight floral & vanilla notes with hints of spice, possible cinnamon. Tropical fruits and toffee coming through the warmer the whisky gets... More vanilla, hints of almond.
Palate: Soft & smooth, sultanas, raisins, creamy sweet toffee, golden syrup even. Citrus lingers at the back of the nose with green fruits and delicate spice.
Finish: Very gentle spice & pepper notes. After a good swirl of whisky around your mouth, the flavours coat your taste buds well, decent length. Slight bitter orange notes with added sweetness, toffee apples.
Overall: Toffee apples at the fun fair, but a lot more fun. Personally I would like to see this bottled at a higher strength to add just that little bit more punch.
