Just Tasted - Macallan Amber / 1824 Series

Macallan Amber, part of the 1824 series created to showcase the range of natural colour found in whisky, each expression becoming increasingly darker and more complex. Macallan Amber has been created from whisky matured in refill & first fill Spanish & American oak sherry casks.
Macallan Amber 1824 Series
Macallan Amber 1824 Tasting Notes 40% Vol / 70cl / £45.00 Nose: Orange zest, raisins, honey & apples. Slight floral & vanilla notes with hints of spice, possible cinnamon. Tropical fruits and toffee coming through the warmer the whisky gets... More vanilla, hints of almond. Palate: Soft & smooth, sultanas, raisins, creamy sweet toffee, golden syrup even. Citrus lingers at the back of the nose with green fruits and delicate spice. Finish: Very gentle spice & pepper notes. After a good swirl of whisky around your mouth, the flavours coat your taste buds well, decent length. Slight bitter orange notes with added sweetness, toffee apples. Overall: Toffee apples at the fun fair, but a lot more fun. Personally I would like to see this bottled at a higher strength to add just that little bit more punch.
