The Rare Casks, Release 2 - We want your thoughts...

Calling all whisky fans! We need your help... Following the successful launch of the first release in our 'Rare Casks Series' we've been busy planning the follow up. The Caperdonich 17 year old, I'm sure you’ll agree is an exceptional dram and therefore it’s only right that we follow this up with something special! We're huge Islay fans here at Abbey Whisky and so we couldn't resist the opportunity to bottle some of the finest whisky from the bonny isle. This is where we need your help. We've sampled some great cask samples over the last few months (someone has to do it) and have narrowed it down to a couple of beauties! We’d like to hear what our customers would prefer to sample next, if you had the choice between the following...
A peated Bunnahabhain, distilled in 1989 and aged in a bourbon barrel for 23 years. Natural cask strength of 44%. Or A Bruichladdich distilled in 1992, aged in a bourbon barrel for 20 years. Natural cask strength of 57%. As you would expect, either dram will be bottled in its natural form, at full cask strength, without chill filtering or colour additives. Both are wonderful drams and would certainly make for a great second release in our opinion. Rarely does an Independent bottler get the opportunity to release one of these precious whiskies from this wonderful island. A peated Bunnahabhain or a classic Bruichladdich? Once we've reached a decision we will select 3 people from those that opted for the chosen dram to receive a sample of the final release. You can either post your thoughts here on our whisky blog, or through our Facebook & Twitter pages. Sláinte
