Just tasted... GlenDronach Single Cask 487 UK Exclusive

Its been a long time coming, but I finally got some spare time last night to sit down and have a proper taste of this exciting new release from GlenDronach Distillery. Its the second UK exclusive from Glendronach. Single cask 487, 19 years of age which was laid to rest in 1993 in a oloroso sherry butt before being bottled in 2012 with only 673 bottles filled. GlenDronach Single Cask 487 - UK Exclusive Appearance: Dark bronze, treacle Nose: Vanilla knocks the nose, followed by raisins, sultanas, butter and a touch of spice.. Palate: Strong powerful flavours, spice, oak, sweet honey, figs & raisins. A touch of water really softens the flavours down, mellowing it down a little... Finish: Spicy on the tongue, vanilla, medium length. Another rounded, great tasting malt from GlenDronach distillery. Just this week we heard news that there will be a second UK exclusive in 2012, when single cask 26 is released later this year. We'll keep you posted if we hear any others news...
