We've seen some excellent indie single cask whiskies from Craigellachie distillery of late and this is certainly another, single cask #2342 is superb. Distilled in 2012 at Craigellachie distillery and matured for 12 years only 220 bottles have been filled from this rather special virgin oak barrel. A UK exclusive release from Alistair Walker and Infrequent Flyers, filled to bottle at cask strength, 58.7% vol.

Nose
An intense nose. Concentrated vanilla, caramel, crushed digestive biscuits and warm, buttery shortbread.
Palate
A warming dram, with that typical Craigellachie chunkiness. The virgin oak influence is strong - pouring honey, sweet butterscotch, molten Demerara sugar and almond pralines. Some sweet spiciness comes through at the back - nutmeg, and a little pepper - with a hint of marzipan too.
