The Summer release and only the second ever bottling to be filled by Daftmill distillery. This special Lowland malt was distilled in 2006 and matured in ex-bourbon barrels until 2018. Only 1665 bottles have been filled at 46% vol - a super exciting release, which we expect to be rather popular.
N.B - This bottle was part of a private collection, the item listed could be the only one we have in stock. If you require further images, please just get in touch.
Tasting Notes
Awards
Nose
The nose opens with freshly baked Victoria sponge, curry leaves and cinder toffee, with tinned peaches and warm gorse flower developing with time in the glass.
Palate
These notes continue onto the palate, but are joined by lemon zest, molten honey on toast, marmalade and vanilla pods, with wood polish and marzipan appearing on the back palate.
Finish
On the finish, waves of honey and spicy oak linger, with fruit-salad chews appearing after a minute or so. This is an excellent dram for a warm summer’s day.
