Tasting Notes
Glen Elgin 12 Year Old - 2007 | Cask 1906028 | Berry Bros & Rudd
This robust Speyside distillate pairs wonderfully with the fresh ex-Pedro Ximenez butt into which it’s been finished for 18 months. The nose is a meeting of Glen Elgin’s trademark waxy marmalade notes and the viscous dried fruit character that comes from the ex-sherry butt. This theme is continued on the palate with a myriad of fresh fruits appearing from the distillate, and merging playfully with the powerful spicey notes of from the wood. An excellent dram for a long winter evening.
