The First Edition in the 'Mr George Legacy' series, released in tribute to Mr George Urquhart, second generation of the family that owns Gordon & MacPhail. A true pioneer within the Scotch whisky industry, Mr George started working in the business in 1933 and created the iconic Connoisseurs Choice in 1968.
This tremendous liquid was distilled 24th December 1953 (the same year Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing became the first people to scale the summit of Mount Everest!) at the Glen Grant distillery and laid to rest in a first-fill Sherry butt for an incredible 67 years! Cask #4209 was emptied and filled to bottle, Tuesday 5th January 2021 at an impressive, 59.4% vol, with only 355 bottles being filled.
"It is a fitting tribute to the legacy of ‘Mr George’ Urquhart."
