Secret Speyside 53 Year Old - 1968 | Cask 13513 | Berry Bros & Rudd (Exceptional Casks)
What a thing of beauty, some would say exceptional! This well-aged Speyside malt was distilled at an undisclosed distillery back in 1968 and was left to slumber in a hogshead cask for 53 years! Only 120 bottles were filled from cask #13513 and bottled as part of the Exceptional Casks series by Berry Bros & Rudd.

Awards
Nose
A sweet shop scent of aniseed and fruit. Polished leather follows, then lemongrass, cinnamon and sandalwood. Exudes maturity. Pleasing camphor and hints of tar coat the underlying fruit.
Palate
The palate initially bursts with enthusiastic grape-like acidity and then a compote of soft fruits emerge and transform into mango and lychee and then this is balanced by some kiwi and citrus notes.
Finish
Lingers delightfully whilst displaying its age and noble heritage.
