Released as part of the third batch in the Virgin Oak Series, this limited release of single malt GlenAllachie was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels then given additional maturation for around 18 months in Scottish virgin oak casks. The casks have been crafted from Sessile Oak (Quercus Petraea) which grows on the west coast of Scotland. Scottish oak is expensive and is said to be challenging to work with, so this type of wood maturation is very rarely seen, so a very exciting and rare release once again from Billy Walker and his team at GlenAllachie.
