Glenrothes 14 Year Old - 2009 | Cask 1801 | Infrequent Flyers (UK Exclusive)
This big hitting Speyside dram from Infrequent Flyers was distilled at the Glenrothes distillery in 2009 and matured in cask for 14 years. Bottled from a rather active Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, only 284 bottles have been filled from cask #1801. A UK exclusive release, bottled at 58.9% vol. We tried this recently and it's excellent, one for the sherry bomb fans, that's for sure!
Tasting Notes
Awards
Nose
A huge nose! Heavy, as Marty McFly would say… Almond pralines, cherries, marzipan and coconut.
Palate
Great Scott, this is intense! Rich treacle toffee, cinnamon spice and cloves, with a helping of clootie dumplings. Stewed fruits - raisins and figs. Dark chocolate and molasses.
Finish
Really spicy (cloves) towards the end.
