We're rather excited with this latest release from independent Scotch whisky bottler, Chorlton Whisky. We don't see a whole lot of single casks from Knockdhu distillery and this peated variety sounds delightful. Only 179 bottles have been filled from a hogshead cask, filled at cask strength, 58.9% vol.
David from Chortlon Whisky describes it as being 'squarely in that sort of Ledaig / Laphroaig space, but with its own distinct identity. A fun one to pour blind to a peat-loving friend!' - We're sold, a bottle defiantly being opened at Abbey Whisky HQ.
