A follow up to last year’s sherried release, this 12 year old Ben Nevis from Decadent Drams presents the distillery matured entirely in first fill bourbon wood. Distilled in 2012 and aged in a single first fill bourbon hogshead, just 287 bottles were produced, bottled at 53% ABV. The bourbon cask maturation brings a bright, clean profile, allowing the distillery’s trademark waxy, oily character to come through clearly. Gentle citrus, cereal sweetness and herbal warmth sit at the core, offering a classic, characterful example of West Highland Ben Nevis.
