A small release of only 167 bottles filled from single cask #85089. This 1997 vintage BenRiach has been aged in a bourbon barrel for 18 years before being bottled in 2015 at cask strength, 59.5% vol.
Tasting Notes
BenRiach 18 Year Old Cask 85089 Tasting Notes
Appearance: Crisp harvest gold.
Nose: A classic harmony of tarte tatin, cinnamon and a subtle back note of desiccated coconut, surrounded by warm oak-spices and barley sugars.
Palate: A delicious avalanche of fruits and crisp green apples, which develops to dried apricots then sweetens to ripe melons. This is perfectly balanced with a fresh twist of lime, a dusting of vanilla sugar and a contrasting peppery oak.
