A rather special single malt Scotch whisky from Mortlach distillery, aged in a first fill sherry butt for 23 years. Distilled 6th July 2000 then bottled 8th February 2024 by Gordon & MacPhail for the historic Connoisseurs Choice range. 563 bottles filled from single cask #9470, bottled at cask strength, 60.3% vol.

Nose
Toffee apples and cocoa powder give way to lemon peel. Bright vanilla pod develops alongside cinnamon spice and a faint herbal edge.
Palate
Stewed plums and dark chocolate are balanced by soft black pepper. Orange oil and butterscotch leads to mature oak.
Finish
Long and spicy with lingering menthol.
