An independent bottling of Octomore, released by Elixir Distillers for the Elements of Islay series. Distilled in 2011, Oc5 was bottled from a single bourbon cask at full strength, 59.8% vol.
Tasting Notes
Oc5 - Elements of Islay Producer Notes
Nose: Multi-layered and fascinating, the nose offers lots of malty cereal, wet straw and peaty smoke alongside juicy fruit-salad notes of grapes and oranges.
Palate: More fruit at first mingles with nuts, toffee, and cereal before an explosion of smoke takes over, slowly dissipating and leading to baked apple pastries.
Finish: Baked apples and wisps of smoke from a wood-burning stove.
