Located on the West coast of Denmark, Stauning distillery malt everything on site and used direct fire pot stills when producing their excellent Danish spirit. This single rye whisky release was finished in a Moscatel wine cask, then bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd for The Nordic Casks #2 series. We'll let the tasting notes do the talking... This single cask release sounds delightful and one we're thoroughly looking forward to trying.

Awards
Nose
Luscious sherry and spicey rye create a whirlpool of aromas on the nose, notes of thick fruit jam on sweet Icelandic style rye bread, new leather, cigar papers, mace and rocket leaf. Wonderfully complex and cerebral.
Palate
The palate gives chewy slabs of liquorice, fruit loaf and black pepper before moving to a sweeter profile led by figs and rich toffee.
Finish
The rye really shines through on the finish with a perfect balance of spice and savoury rye notes.
