Tamdhu and sherry casks go hand in hand, the spirit works so well in this style of maturation. Chosen by Alistair Walker to be part of the sixteenth batch of single casks, this sherry bomb of a dram was distilled in 2013 and matured for 10 years in cask. Bottled from a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon, 698 bottles have been filled from cask #800069 at 57.9% vol. All the previous PX expression from Infrequent Flyers have been excellent, this is another great pick and could well be our go to dram this festive season!
Tasting Notes

Nose
Somewhat funky. Initially earthy, almost savoury aromas, with balsamic notes, and then the fruit comes - raisins, apricots and baked apples.
Palate
Quite evidently from a PX cask… Super sweet, with Demerara sugar, crème brûlée, molten dark brown toffee and rich honeycomb. This is complemented with semi-sweet dark chocolate and marinated sultanas.
Finish
Pretty spicy to boot, with cinnamon and nutmeg.
